InterMoor's fabrication/welding department provides qualified procedures performed by our certified welders for in-shop, on-site and offshore services.
FACILITIES
InterMoor maintains a specialty fabrication facility in Amelia, Louisiana, that includes a 12,000-square-foot covered ASME fabrication facility, 11 acres with 1,000 feet of bulkhead for load-out or storage and a high-tech CNC cutting machine. As Gulf Coast fabricators, InterMoor performs installation aid fabrication and creates custom fabrication items. A new fabrication facility is being constructed in Morgan City, Louisiana (pictured below). It will have 25,400 sq ft of fabrication shop space which will contain two twenty-ton overhead cranes, two ten-ton cranes, one five-ton crane and 2,250 sq ft of CNC shop with a high-tech CNC cutting machine.
CAPABILITIES
We employ a core group of specialized craft personnel and have contact with local welding contractors which are certified to our procedures and when required can staff up to approximately 100 craft personnel. In overseas locations, InterMoor works with local partners.
The close relationship between InterMoor’s in-house engineering and fabrication departments at the Amelia location facilitates a staged manufacturing approach. Unlike typical contract fabrication that requires the fabrication drawing package to be finalized prior to initiating fabrication, InterMoor’s staged process allows manufacturing to begin, as engineering specs come in, compressing delivery schedules and reducing operator costs.
InterMoor does successfully fabricate components not engineered in-house, but when InterMoor is involved in all aspects of engineering and fabrication for a project the overall project outcome, quality control, time-efficiency and overall cost savings are recognizable. However, taking the commitment to quality control a step further, all manufactured products are inspected by third parties for Quality Assurance validation.
