Permanent moorings can have a life span of 20 to 30 years and Floating Production System (FPS) operators are often faced with mooring integrity issues. Budgetary and technical constraints affect the strategy they choose to ensure that the reliability of their mooring systems stay uncompromised. This article presents a practical approach to Mooring Integrity Management (MIM) for floating production systems that are operational and offers a mooring monitoring solution for new systems to realize a more comprehensive management program.
