InterMoor Ltd are recruiting a Base Technician to work at their operations base in Aberdeen.  The successful candidate will be required to prepare the survey and positioning equipment for deployment offshore, check and maintain the equipment and to set up bench tests of full positioning systems. There is also the requirement to assist with outbound and inbound logistics of the offshore equipment and co-ordinate and carry out Quayside vessel mobilisations and de-mobilisations of positioning equipment.

 

Dimensions of the Job

List of Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare equipment according to relevant procedures, including, verifying completeness, testing, configuration, packaging and record keeping
  • Turn around demobilised equipment for next assignment, i.e. returning equipment in original state, and returning rental kit to Vendor

Job Description

    To support the Financial Controller in ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the Finance department, using the IT systems and reporting structures in place

    To support other Departments in achieving financial and non-financial objectives using available financial information

    To provide project support within the InterMoor UK Group, and other intercompany affiliates as required

    Preparation of Best Guess Revenue Forecast for review by Financial Controller

    Preparation of monthly Forecast for review by Financial Controller

    Detailed review of turnover / direct costs by job leading to Accrued Income and WIP journals

    Work closely with the management accountant to ensure integrity of monthly and annual reporting

    Ensure sales accruals are cleared out/invoiced on a timely basis

    Authorisation of bank payments, BACS runs and cheque payments up to agreed limit

    Analysis of R&D expenditure and appropriate reclassification

    Assistance in adherence to the month and year end reporting timetables

    Develop, produce and maintain adequate procedures and controls both within the Finance Department and company in general

    Develop and maintain Navision financials, including resolving issues for colleagues

    Process the necessary administrative tasks associated with day to day Finance queries and issues

    Take the lead in creating project forecasts on a monthly basis, including forecast of project margins

Due to increased and rapid growth, InterMoor Ltd are recruiting for a Marine Consultant to work at our company headquarters in the north of Aberdeen.  Working within our busy and dynamic Marine department the successful candidate will be responsible for project managing marine operations for rig moves of semi-submersible and jack up units, and render marine consultancy service and marine assurance on behalf of Clients.  The successful candidate will also be required to attend offshore operations on behalf of InterMoor, acting in the capacity of Marine Specialist, Marine Representative or Towmaster during rig move and offshore marine operations

 

Dimensions of the Job

List of Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Acting as contract holder/focal point for assigned clients, and managing the contract under its terms
  • Liaising with the clients on a daily basis and updating project status
  • Prepare quotes and costs for clients based on contract rates as applicable
  • Prepare operation specific procedures, risk assessments and any other marine jobs within their competency for the Clients, according to the industry standards, unit specifications and Client instructions
  • Attend rig move meetings with the Clients and update rig move procedures as required
  • Brief vessels, the Marine Representative, the Towmaster or the Marine Superintendent on the operation specific procedure where and when applicable
  • Keep daily update on the status of each ongoing rig move under their control
  • Check and assess the reports after completion of the offshore operation and approve the final report for publishing and distribution to the Client
  • Plan rig moving services according to InterMoor general practice
  • Attend offshore operations as Marine Representative, Marine Specialist or Towmaster
  • Perform accident/incident investigation onboard offshore vessels, as requested by the client
  • Perform Common Marine Inspections, Team Marine, Guard Vessel audits and ERRV Validation Trials or other audits as requested by the Client
  • Participate in the ‘On Call’ rota during out-of-office hours and holidays
  • Ensure effective financial controls and management are in place to achieve cost saving, profit and cash targets and to meet corporate and legal requirements
  • Accurately track and reconcile project equipment and resources
  • Ensure delivery of operational plans according to contractual requirements and customer requirements and expectations. Conduct regular reviews of operations, monitor utilisation and take action to ensure targets are met. Submit accurate and timely reports to line manager
  • Drive operational efficiency, assurance improvements and best practice across the operational team(s) in conjunction with planning for the effective management of risks

 

Core Competencies

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Certificate of competency as Master Mariner
  • Chief Officer certificate of competence or OIM qualified or Barge Engineer with rig moving history

Dimensions of the Job

List of Duties will include but are not limited to:

General

  • Provide effective leadership of the Survey Function in accordance with the company’s values, goals and objectives
  • Promote and adhere to the values of management responsibility and visible leadership
  • Ensure compliance with Client contractual requirements in close liaison with the Commercial Manager
  • Serve as lead facilitator both internally and externally for Survey and positioning projects

  • Provide operational support within InterMoor as required
  • Take responsibility for departmental budget targets and limits
  • Liaise closely with Senior Management and ensure they remains informed of all relevant technical issues
  • Maintain awareness of, and control exposure to, all technical and commercial risk
  • Provide Leadership, Guidance, Support and Encouragement to their Supervisors and Team Leaders in discharging their Operational, QHSE and Support Services Responsibilities
  • Perform Reviews, Inspections and Audits in accordance with the InterMoor Annual QHSE development Plan
  • Promote Team Leader and Supervisor, Leadership and Responsibility for all Operational, QHSE and Support Services Matters
  • Provide the opportunity and platform for clear and concise communication within their team for all Operational, QHSE and Support Services

Technical

  • Develop and maintain the department Competence Assurance System
  • Engage and communicate with senior management and ensure they understand current and possible future operational activities
  • Ensure maintenance of effective client interfaces
  • Quality assure work completed by the survey and positioning department ensuring compliance and alignment to all Company policies and procedures and industry standards
  • Act as the Company’s Chief Surveyor thereby being accountable for all technical procedures and principles
  • Responsible for identifying and recommending and developing the most appropriate specialist software and hardware
  • Defining and executing development plans to ensure the survey and positioning department is at the forefront of relevant technology

Financial

  • Provide accurate input for monthly forecasting and financial reporting
  • Liaise directly with Clients and with the Finance Controller to ensure all technical queries on sales invoices are resolved efficiently and credit terms are observed
  • Ensure effective utilisation of ERP system (NAVISION)
  • Provision of input for monthly forecasting and financial reporting
  • Assist in developing and delivering budgets and business plans
  • Understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance e.g. gross margin percentages and calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads etc.

Business Development and Acquisition

  • Establish and maintain an extensive network of contacts, promote the business and maintain a high profile
  • Increase the company’s involvement with existing clients ensuring penetration at appropriate levels
  • Liaise closely with the MD, BD and Commercial Managers to identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Provide expertise on technical and commercial issues to ensure maximum possible conversion ratio from quotes to orders
  • As required provide input / support to tendering and business development activities
  • Develop and make presentations as necessary, both internally and externally
  • Report and discuss with the Commercial Manager any competitor activity which may detract from InterMoor achieving its objectives

Core Competencies

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Degree (Hons) in Surveying or Electronic Engineering
  • Offshore Survival Training & Necessary Medicals are desirable but not essential
  • Substantial survey experience
  • Senior Manager with survey experience in O&G Marine or other process-related industry
  • Personnel management experience with both onshore and offshore staff
  • Experienced in managing multiple faced paced projects
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Effective/competent MS Office Suite User
  • High level of communication skills in both written and verbal

  • Preparation of annual Statutory Accounts Template and preparation / review of various other year end reports

Sales and Operations Executive - Singapore (SOE-Sing)

An opportunity has arisen for a Sales and Operations Executive to join the InterMoor team in Singapore. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be wearing a dual hat of assisting with sales and also coordinating operations. You will generate new leads, promote the business and manage inbound enquiries. You will also manage the sales process from setting up hire orders to creating billing, the logistics of mobilisation/demobilisation of equipment, and ensuring all stock and general operational administration is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Increase revenue through equipment rentals and sales
  • Development of potential and existing client relationships by providing support, information and guidance on InterMoor products and services
  • Own the creation and submission of quotes to clients in a timely manner
  • Compile ITB documentation as required
  • Propose appropriate pricing, based on market and competitor insight, to Commercial Manager
  • Advise revisions to the Equipment Rate card where appropriate based on market developments
  • Respond to Market Survey enquiries in an efficient and timely manner
  • Proactively follow-up on quote submissions to ensure InterMoor are well positioned and can respond to customer needs
  • Source 3rd party equipment when necessary to meet customer requirements
  • Manage the stock of corporate giveaways to ensure there is always sufficient levels
  • Develop an appropriate network of influential industry contacts
  • Liaise with engineering team and operations team to check suitability of client requests and ensure availability of equipment
  • Represent InterMoor at trade exhibitions and events as required
  • Setting up hire orders, sales orders, dispatching jobs and creating billing in Navision.
  • Formulate proforma invoices, stating weights, dimensions and replacement values for equipment being shipped internationally for rental.
  • Produce cargo summaries; stating weights, dimensions and replacement values for equipment being dispatched locally for rental.
  • Compile reports with regards to various forms of equipment inspections carried out by InterMoor staff.
  • Produce hire sheets and job files for rental orders.
  • Work with Operations team to distribute Hire Returns reports.
  • Generate customer on-hire reports and send on a weekly basis so as to show equipment remaining on-hire.
  • Update weekly client spreadsheet stating items on-hire, relevant rig, stand detailing client owned equipment returned or in storage.
  • Maintaining/up-dating of rental equipment stock database, including certification records, communicating with suppliers on certification issues, providing customers with certification when necessary, and working with Operations team during stock-takes to ensure accurate records.
  • Liaise with suppliers to receive required costs for logistics arrangements
  • Liaise with TOLL, freight forwarders, crane operators etc in order to ensure that all equipment is delivered in and a timely and safe manner.
  • To ensure that the best commercial solution is obtained in relation to all logistics.
  • Liaise with project teams regarding client recharges for offshore operations.
  • Liaising with both clients and yard team respectively with regards to current and upcoming hires and hire returns
  • Compile all 3rd party costs involved in mob/demob of jobs, and issue subsequent bill to customers
  • Create new asset IDs

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe software
  • Comprehensive understanding of mooring equipment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the Mooring industry sector preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to develop relationships with clients and suppliers 
  • Commercial acumen to advise on commercial quotes & tenders and negotiate prices on behalf of InterMoor
  • Good operational and technical experience in logistics, import, export and associated legislation 
  • Experience with NAVISION 
  • Ability to prioritise with good time management 
  • Organised and diligent with good attention to detail to ensure high quality, professional submissions to customers 
  • Proactive approach to dealing with internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers 
  • Good degree of perseverance to manage opportunities from start to close 
  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken format
