Marine Superintendent/Project Mariner (MS/PM)

Project Accountant (PROJACCT)

Job Description

    To support the Financial Controller in ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the Finance department, using the IT systems and reporting structures in place

    To support other Departments in achieving financial and non-financial objectives using available financial information

    To provide project support within the InterMoor UK Group, and other intercompany affiliates as required

    Preparation of Best Guess Revenue Forecast for review by Financial Controller

    Preparation of monthly Forecast for review by Financial Controller

    Detailed review of turnover / direct costs by job leading to Accrued Income and WIP journals

    Work closely with the management accountant to ensure integrity of monthly and annual reporting

    Ensure sales accruals are cleared out/invoiced on a timely basis

    Authorisation of bank payments, BACS runs and cheque payments up to agreed limit

    Analysis of R&D expenditure and appropriate reclassification

    Assistance in adherence to the month and year end reporting timetables

    Develop, produce and maintain adequate procedures and controls both within the Finance Department and company in general

    Develop and maintain Navision financials, including resolving issues for colleagues

    Process the necessary administrative tasks associated with day to day Finance queries and issues

    Take the lead in creating project forecasts on a monthly basis, including forecast of project margins

    Assist and coach managers in updating the monthly forecast to ensure integrity of the submission

    Submission of monthly forecast data to TM1

    Analyse forecast and budget variances on a full year basis

    Create sensitivity analysis on forecast versions when required

    Preparation of project PO accruals on a monthly basis

    Detailed review of turnover / direct costs by job leading to Accrued Income and WIP journals

    Ensure quotes, tenders and projects are being fully captured on Navision

    Periodic review of sales pipeline to reconcile with Navision input / monthly forecast

    Assist managers in planning and preparing for the annual budget cycle

    Take responsibility for Working Together projects and submissions as required

    Coordinate all entities for Working Together projects when appropriate

    Ensure Working Together projects are correctly staffed in terms of contract accountants

    Ensure project milestones are recognised in accordance with the Acteon Revenue Recognition policy

 

Required Experience

    Professional accounting qualification or working towards CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent (P)

    Experience of computerised accounting systems (E)

    Strong knowledge of current accounting standards and practices (E)

    Able to demonstrate a proven track record in financial management (P)

    Effective/competent MS Office Suite User (E)

    Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken format (E)

Base Technician (Base Technician - Aberdeen)

InterMoor Ltd are recruiting a Base Technician to work at their operations base in Aberdeen.  The successful candidate will be required to prepare the survey and positioning equipment for deployment offshore and check and maintain the equipment and to set up bench tests of full positioning systems. There is also the requirement to assist with outbound and inbound logistics of the offshore equipment and co-ordinate and carry out Quayside vessel mobilisations and de-mobilisations of positioning equipment.

Dimensions of the Job

List of Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Prepare equipment according to relevant procedures, including, verifying completeness, testing, configuration, packaging and record keeping
• Turn around demobilised equipment for next assignment, i.e. returning equipment in original state, and returning rental kit to Vendor
• Assist with equipment repairs and cleaning where necessary
• Service computers between projects
• Assist  in maintaining administrative records
• Assist on offshore jobs as and when required


Core Competencies

• Basic knowledge of electro technical and electronic components and principles
• Hands on technical ability: handling basic testing equipment (e.g. multimeter);  soldering and cable splicing
• Basic fault finding abilities 
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Effective/competent MS Office Suite User
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Ability to travel offshore as required

Finance Manager/Senior Accountant (Fin. Mgr Singapore)

Working for InterMoor PTE based in Singapore the successful candidate will be required to ensure that accurate and timely reports and information are provided internally to senior management and ensure that best practice is achieved wherever possible whilst leading and mentoring other members of the Finance Team.  This role would suit a Senior Accountant who is looking to take the next step in their career. 

 

Dimensions of the Job

List of Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide financial support within InterMoor as required
  • Take responsibility for departmental budget targets and limits
  • Liaise closely with the MD and ensure they remain informed of all relevant financial issues
  • Review of ongoing projects with Project Managers and Finance Team
  • Management of Company computerised accounting system including all relevant security
  • Timely, accurate reporting of monthly financial information to Line Managers
  • Timely, accurate reporting of monthly financial information to parent company
  • Monthly / year to date / annual variance analysis
  • Compilation and submission of Best Guess data
  • Responsibility for driving the annual budgeting process
  • Preparation of quarterly GST returns
  • Authorisation of bank and cheque payments up to agreed limits
  • Collation and provision of appropriate information to payroll administrators
  • Preparation of annual Statutory Accounts Template and preparation / review of various other year end reports
  • Tax year end reporting
  • Annual data returns for insurance renewals
  • Ensure that all Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and that any material errors or unidentified balances are immediately notified / reported / corrected.
  • Financial analysis of projects, department and market sectors
  • Management, monitoring and control of working capital requirements and targets
  • Provide input / support to tendering and business development activities
  • Management of the relationship with the company’s external auditors and tax advisers
  • Ensuring that proper procedures are in place for credit control and the monitoring and collection of debtor balances

 

Core Competencies

  • Member of a recognized professional Accountancy body
  • Experience of computerised accounting systems
  • Good understanding of reporting requirements for parent company
  • Knowledgeable on current accounting standards and practices
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a senior role within a Finance Department
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Systems development experience
